Sports Council welcome
Minister
The
Sports Council for Northern Ireland was delighted to welcome Parliamentary
Under-Secretary of State Angela Smith MP to the House of Sport on her recent
visit.
The
Minister, who is responsible for The Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure (DCAL),
helped the Sports Council to launch their Lottery Strategy (2002–2007) and
Corporate Plan (2003-2006).
The
Minister enjoyed a talk given by Lottery Director Nick Harkness and Sports
Development Director Shaun Ogle, and afterwards took time out to walk around the
building and chat with a variety of Sports Development and Governing Body staff.

Council Chairman, Professor Eric Saunders said:
“It
is a pleasure to welcome the Minister to the Sports Council, the time she has
taken out today is greatly appreciated by all of us at the House of Sport”.
