Following in the footsteps
of the successful All Island Conferences of previous years, the Sports Council
for Northern Ireland and Irish Sports Council staged this two-day event in late
November 2003 as a platform to inspire and enthuse discussion and debate.
A series of talks and
workshops looked at what has been achieved in sports development and where
sport is going in the future. The conference provided learning and development
opportunities for those working in the fast changing environment of sports
development.
The 2003 All Island Sports
Development Conference was aimed at all those involved in sport, in
either a professional or voluntary capacity. The Conference notes and
presentations will be of great benefit to those involved
in participation, coaching, training, nutrition, finance and many other fields
of development.
The following is a summary of the
Conference programme including the presentations in the main conference and the
workshop sessions.
The presentation materials are
linked to the sessions as they were presented on the day - they are not
complete, workshop notes will follow shortly.
